cost of living
Hi, I just joined this forum and just have a question. First, I've been divorced for almost 6 years and have an 8 y/o daughter. At the time of my divorce, my laywer put a cap on how much we both could make in relation to my CS increasing. My question is: could I go back to the lawyer to see if I could get a cost of living raise in my CS? I don't know much my ex is making so I probably have to wait until our taxes are done for 2010. I just wanted to know if there is such a thing.
I definitely think you can do that - The main idea is that you will pay CS according to the amount you are making, so a raise or lowering in the amount you're making should allow you to do this. I would just call one of the lawyers listed on this site and ask them.

Thanks! So just so I'm understanding this: my lawyer put a cap of $90,000 on the amount that both my ex and I can make - when it gets to that amount, my CS can't increase, according to the decree. What you're saying is that my CS can increase despite the cap of 90,000. That is great news!
You had mentioned that i get a hold of one of your lawyers that is here on this site. since I'm new to this site, where do I look?
