First of all every person is different so it is natural for you to be smaller/larger than other women. There is nothing wrong with you or your curiosity. Now I don't think that you should have to use much force to use a tampon. You may have a bit of a different kind of hymen from other ladies. You see normally it forms with a single larger hole in the center. However, sometimes it can form perforated with several smaller holes, a single small hole, or even with a small "thread" of tissue going across the opening. Any of these conditions can cause difficulty and pain inserting a tampon. You can try checking for yourself by holding your labia apart with one hand and using a mirror in the other hand to see. I don't want to scare you or anything but, I think it would be in your best interest to go to a gynocologist. Just make sure to tell him/her that you are still a virgin.

tampon

the best thing to do is see a doctor, but the best way to see if they work/use them, sit on the toilet and gently angle it ( when you have your period) it will help it go in easyer. that's how I leared to use them. also ask your doctor and see if he/she has any advice on using tampons.
