Not much covid boredom for me
I run a trucking business, so nothing much has changed for me. I always work from home, so that's normal for my life.
Trucking is an essential business, especially during a pandemic when staple supplies need to be delivered to businesses and homes. My drivers have been working 60 hour weeks by-the-week, not by time logs. A couple of them haven't seen home for a month. Ouch! The money is great, though. My youngest daughter is one of them and is saving for a house. She's years ahead of where she expected to be at this point in time. Her husband drives with her, tandem team - they are in their mid-twenties and loving the experience.
There is something to be said about contributing to the saving of our country through delivery. We are proud of ourselves, our business, and all the great people who work so hard to bring goods to the public during a terrible time.
I hired a Ukraine woman last month who had experience driving eastern europe. She's a knock out blonde who handles a rig better than most men. She says that our work here is far more impressive than trucking in europe - where regulations make ours look simple (they're not simple, they're a pain in the ass).
Hope everyone is handling their lives and holding on for when this blows over.
