Sarina, If you are a true virgin (never had oral sex, anal sex, or normal sex) then that's great, I think most guys would be understanding once they hear your story, however, please understand...alot of men and women lie about being virgins...I personally am not above making someone take a lie detector test.... you may think that is extreme but consider this- There was a girl I knew in high school that got around more than anyone else in school that I know of (she had sex with around thirty men at the time now it is more) yet she told her first husband (from out of town) that she was a virgin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is soooo wrong! The last time I talked with her sister, she was already cheating on her second husband before she was married to him. She is not the only one who lies about that either! Lots of other women try that same tactic. It is very sad that we can't trust everything that people tell us, but that is the world we live in.
I am a 27 year old virgin and I only date virgins and time proven born again virgins that have been abstinent at least two years.
I guess what I'm saying is this, if I was dating you I would be very sensitive to your situation. However, I would have my doubts until either I knew you for years, or you took a lie detector. I know that is extreme but I know how some women lie about this. I don't ever want to wake up next to a wife that I later find out was a huge slut that didn't want to marry someone like herself.
I guess what I'm saying is this a very sensitive issue both ways....Some women have been raped or molested, or just had their hymen broke while riding horses or just hard exercise. All of these women are still virgins, no doubt about that, virginity is something you give away, it can't be taken from you unwillingly.
But then there are men and women who are totally double standard, they want to marry a virgin even though they aren't one themselves. They think they can go around and have all the sex they want, yet they say they want to marry a virgin some day. They know that a virgin has integrity, discipline, character, self respect, and lots of respect for their future spouse. Yet they don't see any problem at all with the fact that they aren't virgins themselves. It is a such a double standard.
Anyway there is a surgery to get your hymen restored. I'm not a big fan of this surgery though since the VAST MAJORITY of women who get this surgery are only getting it to deceive their future husbands which is very wrong. However in your case I think the surgery is called for only if you think it is. You did not give away your virginity or hymen yet, so if it is important for you to give your hymen to your future husband than I think you should do it. There is a place in California that will do the surgery. I don't know how painful it is but you can call them and ask.
If you would like to know more you can email me I can send you some information and diagrams to help you locate your hymen to see if it's torn.

guy virgin 1977,
You are so incredibly judgemental. just because a girl is not a virgin doesnt mean that she is a bad person nor that she is a slut. i have known many people who have been in long term serious relationships and after about a year or a year and a half, they have sex. do consider this girl a slut?? yes i understand that you have to be carful about what people tell you because they are not always tellling the truth.
i am just appalled that you would over look a decent woman because she has had sex before. no one is perfect and not every body thinks sex is a bad thing like you so obviously do...
and a lie detector test? are you kidding me?? you are WAY too hung up on sex and making it count for more than what it really does. no wonder you are 27 years old, not married and a virgin!! it just bothers me that you have no openness to others opinions. and a girl has to be a virgin to gain your respect.
im sure you are not perfect so why do you feel like you have to place so much emphasis on sex and if your date has done it.
get over yourself. because you are so judgemental people are going to be more prone to lie to you because you are holding them to such high standards concerning their body...
get a life
