Mortality is a seriously under-discussed issue
I just find that so fascinating within our education system.
I am 24 years old, still a virgin. Had more opportunities than I could count, and still kicking myself in not accepting some of them. Actively trying to observe others and grow closer to various communities, realizing that many of them have a dark side.
Also I am writing a book on what I think about relationships and how abstinence should be talked about more. And why testing is something that should be as available as the public library.

Blood tests seem to be very popular, whereas testing for anything does not.

Are you talking about mortality, as in death, or morality, as in ethics?

I wonder if testing was more commonly pronounced that it would lower the overall rate of spreading.

You have omitted a lot of wording in your comments. If you are wanting to write a book, you will have to learn to write much more clearly.
I have added quite a bit of text to your original comments. I am ASSUMING that you are trying to talk about AIDS and other types of venereal disease.
Mortality from sexually transmitted diseases is a seriously under-discussed issue. I just find that so fascinating within our education system that not only is there little talk about abstinence, but also none about the fatality rates from STDs.

Sorry, my writing style is sometimes very ambiguous: not easily understood when read, reread, or even analyzed.
I guess the point that I would like to make is that as a society (making an un-statistical totally biased generalization) we do not like to talk about mortality as much as we should. Specifically when it comes to STD's, in fact I would rather have a sexual education curriculum that would incorporate life-skills, than have a history class.
Sorry to all you history majors out there. Until we can live without spreading disease in our present day, I think our time is better spent instilling that value of abstinence and disease awareness. So that the children of tomorrow will be able to focus on the problem at hand: disease, death, and dangers within our own morals in this capatalistic society.
Maybe then will we have a paradigm shift in being so materialistic, self-centered, and greedy to one that is more forgiving, less chaotic, and caring about what happens in our future. We may also see motivated scholars of tomorrow who want to learn more about science, math, and changing the world; ridding it of all its impurities.
If we fail to take care of ourselves and mother earth; and stop the wars of the future. I am afraid that this earth will not survive any longer, at least in the way where we can breath clean air, drink from the waters of the river, and not become infected with a disease that we has yet to come into existence; be it something mental, physical, or emotional.
