Disrespected

So the woman I was seeing just dropped a bomb on me. I thought everything was perfect between us and she knew I was divorced for about 1.5 years at the beginning of our relationship. Now she says she wants to get married and raise a family (as do I). The only problem is she doesn't want to do that with a man who's been married before. Why wasn't it an issue before but now all of a sudden it is? I never initiated my divorce so why would someone look down on it like it's a black mark on me? Anyone have any similar experiences? It sucks I wish I could explain it to her.

ouch

I have not had that happen to me and I can't even imaging...that is one of the most selfish things i've ever heard, sorry to hear it. She doesn't really deserve someone like you who would be dedicated to the relationship, good luck in the future

Your Woman wont see you anymore because you are divorced

I am nearly 100% sure that your girlfriend is lying about her feelings and using the "past divorce" thing as a hat rack for her decision. It sounds to me like she doesn't want to marry you and doesn't have the courage to say so.

Think of it this way, do you really believe that, if she was passionate about marrying you, she would let a relatively simple issue like your past divorce stop her from realizing that passion?

If I am right, then let her go. She would be doing you a favor. You cant trust a person who has to cover their feelings/decisions with lies. You cant build a relationship with a wobbly foundation like that. Let it fall, and move on.
