Age difference

I've been corresponding with this lady awhile, we've talked on the phone and web cam. We have a number of things in common. She's 24 and I am 41. Is there anyone with thoughts, or experience in this type of relation?

re: age diff

You're both consenting adults, I don't see a problem. It's like Jane Eyre or the book Rebecca.

No big deal...

Age means nothing. Absolutely nothing.

It's a biological fact that women mature at a young age, usually 15-17, where as men mature MUCH later, usually in their early 30's. So if you want a relationship that's going to last, an older man with a younger girl would seem to be a good foundation.

Is it a coincidence that our divorce rate is so high, and that girls tend to marry men near their own age?

Older men understand and appreciate women, not as objects, but as persons. The older fellas I know would give their right arm to take a virgin, and keep her for ever. The younger lads I know just want sex - bang 'em and move on. Older men will buy you flowers, send you love notes, take you out just to hold your hand, and brag about you to their friends. Younger guys will have one objective in mind - get it as quick as possible, then disappear just as quickly.

So ladies, which would you rather have?

Go for it!

Seems fine to me aswell. But have you heard of the May-December rule? Basically a rule of thumb. You half the older person's age and add seven years and the result would be the youngest that the partner would be to be deemed socially acceptable. In your case she have to be about 27. I think this is little known and more of an unconscious perception in society.

Never-the-less, you are both old and mature enough to have a healthy relationship. Just bear in mind that some people might frown upon it (or more likely be jealous! I love to have a 24 year old girlfriend when I'm 41.)

Just for the record I'm 23 and I'm seeing a 17 year old girl at the moment and that doesn't fall into this rule either, and a relationship much more likely to be frowned upon, (she's more sexully experienced than me however!).

Don't take this too seriously though. That's an age difference most older men would envy, so as long she's still not a giggling little girl, have fun and don't worry about it!
